Hi, I'm John and here's a little bit about me:

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo. I wanted to get involved in an area that was new in the technology sector. I took several intro courses in Machine Learning, Data Mining, etc. However I never quite found my niche until cloud computing was introduced to me at an internship and since then I have taken on this journey.

  • Assisted in the creation/development of microservices, consisting of REST APIs, in SpringBoot that serve as orchestrators for provisioning of public cloud infrastructure in Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Provided daily monitoring and management of our public cloud microservices within the firm’s in house container platform, App Engine, which consists of YAML templates and Docker containers.
  • Engaged in tool development to streamline and automate existing/new tasks in order to reduce team workload, cleanup redundant cloud-based resources, and improve support to internal/external clients.

Centene Corporation

Software Engineering Intern • May 2020 - February 2021

  • Developed a script to integrate third party tools for ongoing projects by automating the process of pulling images, from multiple sources, and pushing them into the appropriate AWS Elastic Container Registry
  • Established the initial work for a security benchmark consisting of Veracode static analysis scans in the CI/CD pipeline and assisted with other security benchmarks for current projects to meet.
  • Leveraged knowledge in Agile, Git, Python, Docker, AWS specifically CloudFormation, S3, CodeBuild, CodeCommit, ECR, EventBridge, Lambda, and IAM.
